On October 14, 2018, my Lola celebrated her 86th birthday in Cebu, Philippines.
It's been 5 long years since my previous visit to the motherland. My brother and dad joined me in what I came to realize would be the final instance I would see my grandmother celebrate her birthday. It had been 2 years since my family had gone without me to the Philippines and now I felt it was time to finally see my grandmother after missing her presence for so long.
